Bylaw Consolidation

Currently all by-laws amendments, additions and repeals are registered as separate dealings on the certificate of title. The strata law reform proposal suggests a move to consolidation of by-laws and registration process. This is similar to the Queensland and Victorian system where any amendment will require the re-lodgement of the Community Management Statement (Qld) or Rules of the Owners Corporation (Victoria).

The consolidation of all the by-laws for a strata scheme can be a big task and will involve conversion of the separate dealings into word files and then the amalgamation of all the dealings into one consolidated file. This can be managed under the supervision of the by-laws practitioner in order to streamline the registration process in the future.
