A by-law review is a comprehensive analysis of the registered by-laws of a strata scheme. As part of the review, the inconsistent, out of date and by-laws outside the powers of the owners corporation shall be repealed and new by-laws will be made to deal with the specific issues unique to the strata scheme.
It is noted that the strata law reform proposal suggests the imposition of a mandatory requirement for the review of the by-laws of a scheme from time to time. By having a comprehensive by-law review, an owners corporation is able to keep abreast of the issues that face their owners and occupiers and resolve them in a efficient manner, enforcing breach of by-laws as required from time to time.
